Today we are adding some: water
Think about it:
We only realise how much we need water, whenever we open the tap and nothing comes out! We drink water when we are thirsty, we use it to give our pets to drink, and we use water to wash the plates and our clothes. There needs to be a source of water in the crib. The Virgin Mary needed water, the shepherds would want to give the sheep to drink, and even the innkeeper needed water, for sure. Water helps us to cleanse things which may become dirty. There are times, when we need to be purified and cleansed. When we lie to try and avoid punishment, our hearts need to be cleaned.
Family time:
Read the story of Zacchaeus (Luke 19, 1-10). Zacchaeus was a tax collector. There is nothing wrong in being a tax collector, however he was also a liar. He used to collect more taxes then necessary, and he kept the difference for himself. He had to face the consequences. No one wanted to be his friend! However, when he met Jesus, he was sorry and he paid back for all the wrongs he had done.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, give me the courage to say the truth always, even when I know that by saying the truth I may be punished for the wrong choice that I could have made.
Let’s do it!
Before going to bed, say the Act of Contrition.
Sing:
Let’s sing together: Speak the truth.
