The treasure

We read

Matthew 13, 44 

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

We pray

Dear Lord, nothing compares to your love. Help us to give up the things that we treasure and follow only you, our precious, and best possible treasure. Amen 

We live

What is a treasure? 

In our story books we read that pirates risk their lives to find the treasure. In the Gospel reading, the man sold everything he had to be able to buy this treasure. 

What is very important for us? What are we always looking for? Most probably everyone wants to be happy. Even Jesus wants us to be happy. We are happy when we make others happy, when we care for others and when we help others. 

Today we fast from thinking of ourselves and instead, we think of others. We try to help others more, smile at them and say nice things to them and about them, we use the words, please, sorry and thank you more often.
