We read

John 10, 9 

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

We pray

Dear God, please soften my heart so that I will always open it for Jesus when He comes knocking, especially when I am feeling lonely or afraid. Thank you for loving me no matter what. Amen 

We live

What do doors do?  

We go into our home through the door. The door keeps us safe inside; safe from the wind, the rain and the sun. We are also safe inside from those who may want to do us harm. Jesus says he is our door, he is the one who keeps us safe.  

Today we fast from opening doors to temptation, we fast from bad choices. Before doing or saying something, we stop and think, to see that what we decide to do is a good choice. When we make good choices, we are choosing to enter from the door Jesus is opening for us.
