Lost and found

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer to express gratitude

Hi Kids!

Have you ever passed for an experience when you have been in a place with your parents or with someone who was taking care of you, and you were lost for some time? Or you were somewhere and listened to a notice about someone who was lost? I can imagine what were your feelings, particularly if you were lost in a place you have never been to! And surely your parents or those who were taking care of you were worried too. This is what happened to Mary and Joseph when they didn’t find Jesus. They were very worried and confused. But when they managed to find him, Jesus showed them that this happened in accordance to God’s will, and they accepted.

Today’s Prayer Space is called Lost and Found. One needs:

  • An object that you once lost and it was found or a picture of it
  • Template of the explosion form
  • Pen, markers or crayons

Look at this object you once lost for some time. Is this object important for you? Could you do without it? Think about how many things we acquire in life, but do we use them frequently? Is it true that we cannot do without them? Which of these one cannot do without?  Health, family, to be friends with Jesus, true friends, love, education, food, water and all that makes us happy or clothes, toys and games, a school bag of a typical brand, a lot of photos of a particular occasion? As Mary and Joseph found that which was essential to them and could not do without him, likewise we are to recognize what are the things which are really necessary.

On the explosion form template, write what the lost and found object is and what is its necessity or not.

Spare a small prayer or hope to God to help you appreciate more what is really necessary in everyday life.
