The parable of the yeast

We read

Matthew 13, 33  

He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”

We pray

Dear God, when we accept Jesus, his grace grows in our hearts. Keeping Jesus in our hearts changes us from the inside out. Like yeast causes bread dough to grow, Jesus helps our hearts to grow in love. Amen  

We live

The yeast is what gives the bread its shape. We are shaped by the people around us, by our experiences, by what we read and see and learn, amongst other things.  

We want to become more like Jesus. Therefore, to be shaped more like Jesus, let us spend more time with Jesus. Today we fast from electronics and screen time and go to mass, read the bible or watch stories about Jesus. We can also pray the Way of the Cross
