Touching hands

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer when doubting God

Hi kids!

Have you ever found yourself doubting something or someone?  In situations like these it is nice to find someone whom you can rely on and find reassurance.

Thomas did not believe that Jesus is alive. He doubted that Jesus had risen from the death and visited the apostles until he himself saw him and touched the wounds in his hands and side.

Jesus was not angry with Thomas for having doubts and he gave him a second chance. He loves us when we doubt too and wants us to talk to him in prayer about all our doubts.

The prayer space we are going to do today (and with those who share our same household) is called: –Touching Hands and to do it we need: –

  • An A4 size plain paper
  • Pencils, markers, and colours
  • Scissors

Start by thinking about moments when you had doubts about God’s love.

Fold the A4 paper and place your hand in a way that the thumb and pointer are touching the folded edge and draw the outline of your hand.

Cut round the outline you drew and open the paper. These hands are going to remind us of Jesus so we will mark with two small hearts the centre of each palm.

On it you can write a prayer asking Jesus to help you believe that he is with you even when you feel he is at a distance.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again.

How to use this space

God speaks to us in many ways, including through prayer at home. Here you will find useful background and activities to better understand how to pray, helping you to connect with God in your daily life in a meaningful way.
