Dirty apron

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer to serve and love

The clothes we wear say alot about us.  If someone wears a police officer uniform, we get to know his passion and his job.

A dirty apron says alot about the person who wears it.  It tells us that the person who wears it, works hard and at times she or he gets dirty while cooking or serving for others and his/her master.

Following the example of Mother Mary we too are all called to dirty our aprons and serve our God.

Like Holy Mary we can say, ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.’

God wants us to love one another always; like Mary we are to bear good news to others, and the Holy Spirit will help us. God waits for our love by serving Him and others . If we say ‘Yes!’ the Love of God in our world will be brought forward.

The prayer space we are going to do today (with those who share our same household) is called: Dirty Apron and to do it we need:

  • An Apron or an apron template
  • A marker

We are going to start by putting on our aprons or if we don’t have one we can take an apron template and write our name on it as a sign that we want to serve God.

Next, we are going to take some time to think about our aprons.  Are we serving our God and one another with love? Are we using our aprons and are they dirty?

Now, we are going to close our eyes and ask God to help us to listen to his word and serve him and one another by loving, in whatever we think, do or say.

A 10 second pause gathered in prayer.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again.

How to use this space
