On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me… five golden rings
These five gold rings refer to the first five books of the Old Testament. These books tell the history of the beginning of God’s relationship with humankind and of his relationship with the children of Israel with whom He made an agreement (covenant). He promised to love and protect them if they followed His Laws. These books are known as the Law, Torah or Pentateuch.
Prayer
Dear God, today we remember the feast of the Holy Family. It is a day to remember all your family throughout the world, but I pray especially for the people in my family today, that no trouble or harm will fall on them today. Amen
