Fight for freedom

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer for those suffering

Hi kids!

Sometimes we hear news of wars and violence in countries around the world. We realise that many people are suffering. How does this make you feel? Why are so many innocent people killed or living in terror?

In 1940, when the Second World War broke out, a thirteen year old German-Jewish girl called Anne Frank was also shocked and saddened by the imprisonment and death of millions of Jewish people, many of whom were her family, friends and neighbours. Anne Frank herself was one of the victims of the merciless killing of six million Jews known as the Shoah.

Yet today, Anne is a symbol of unity to people of all nations, race, gender and religion. Her messages to hope and fight for freedom are immortalized in her famous diary, in which she encourages us to fight against discrimination, war, prejudice and oppression in the world today.

  2. Around the angles of these two triangles, write the names of people or countries who are suffering  because of war, racism, unfair imprisonment and prejudice.
