Forever memory

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer for a Child's First Communion

Hi Kids!

Do you remember the day when you received your First Holy Communion? Which was the best moment for you? What were your feelings while you were approaching the altar to receive Jesus in your heart? During the celebration of the Eucharist we offer the bread and wine to the priest together with what we are. Soon after, in the consecration, through the priest, the bread and wine become the real body and blood of Christ. This moment is a remembrance of Jesus’ deed: giving himself.

Today’s prayer space we are carrying out with those we live with is: Forever Memory.

Equipment needed for this prayer space:

  • a picture of yours receiving your First Holy Communion
  • a small paper
  • two A4 papers or paperboards, one white and another one yellow.
  • a pen or a pencil
  • templates of the Eucharist and the chalice
  • glue

Hold the picture of your First Holy Communion and observe it for some time in silence.

On the small paper write your feeling at that moment you met Jesus. As soon as you are ready fold the paper.

Scissor the template of the Eucharist from the white paper or paperboard, and the chalice template from the yellow paper or paperboard.

Attach them together, and on the upper part of the chalice stick the folded paper with your feelling.

Offer it to Jesus by some quiet time of prayer before the Eucharist (even in a virtual way), or before an image of the crucifix, icon, or in a place or corner that reminds you of an event from the life of Jesus.

A pause in silence for a moment of prayer in silence.

If you would like to share your prayer with others, send us a picture on our email.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again and if you enjoyed this moment of prayer, please like the video and subscribe.
