Free from the chains

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer for the victims of drugs

Think about the last time you were feeling sick and your parents, guardians or doctor gave you medication to feel better. Unlike these medicines which are made to heal you, illegal drugs and substances only cause terrible physical and mental harm sometimes leading to death. Many children, youths or adults who become drug abusers may also be victims of a worldwide drug-trafficking system in which criminals circulate, sell and provide illegal drugs. They feel like they are locked in chains.

This prayer space is called Free from The Chains

You will need:

  • A pen or pencil
  • A blank sheet of paper
  • A battery-powered candle
  • Colouring pencils
  • Think of the victims of illegal drugs and substances and how they affect their health and life.
  • Design a poster including the subject of a chain with a slogan against illegal drugs and drug trafficking.
  • Light a candle and pray for the victims of drug trafficking and for more justice in the world.
  • Pray for those who have fallen victim to drug abuse so that they will accept help and will not lose hope to break free from this terrible addiction.
