We read

Matthew 4, 18-22

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

We pray

Dear God, just as you called the Apostles to follow you, give me courage to follow you and look kindly on us whenever I am feeling sad or lonely. Amen

We live

The apostles left whatever they were doing and gave the rest of their life to Jesus, they followed him, learnt from him and then they too, taught others about God, and the life Jesus wishes us to live.

Today, give some of your time to others. Maybe during lunch break there is someone who is always alone, invite this person to join you, your grandparents, or someone else may be sick and alone at home, give them a call, your younger brother or sister wants to play, play with them instead of doing something else.
