Make way

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer to follow God's way

Hi kids!

Just like St John the Baptist, the church during this Advent  is calling us to :

‘Prepare the way for the Lord,’

We are invited to look at ourselves and see what is blocking the path which leads us to God’s Love. We need to see which bad habits and sins are blocking our path.

One way of clearing the path is by confessing our sins.  With a clear path it will be easier for us to see the Lord’s constant love and presence in our lives.

The prayer space we are going to do today is called – Make Way and  to do it  we need:

  • a path template template
  • small pieces of paper
  • marker and/or biro

Take some time to think of the bad habits and sins which are blocking the path to God’s Love.

On each piece of paper write or draw the bad habits and sins.  Squash the papers and place them on the path template.

Now, while you look at these obstacles pray God to help you clear up the way so that you can see and experience more of his constant presence and love in your life.

Some time gathered in prayer.

Finally while you can remove the small squashed paper balls from the path you can plan to go for confession so that you will be making way for the Lord.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again.

How to use this space

God speaks to us in many ways, including through prayer at home. Here you will find useful background and activities to better understand how to pray, helping you to connect with God in your daily life in a meaningful way.
