Hello kids!
Have you ever been going through the house and realise how much extra stuff we own? Or when watching the TV have you ever come across an advert or documentary where people barely have a roof over their heads?
In the Gospel, Jesus praises the old lady who in the temple donated a few cents. She did not donate much but it was all she had. Others who ridiculed her gave much more but this was their extra.
Today’s prayer space is called Need or Want? And we need a blank page and pencil or pen.
Think of all those children who have not got a place to sleep in, and of the old woman from the Gospel who donated all she had. Think of your possessions – clothes, games, computer, playstation and list them down.
Look at the list and mark which are the wants and which are the needs. Needs are those things that we cannot live without so practically just food, water and medicines. While wants are those things that make life easier and more comfortable.
Take an item or 2 off the list and place in a bag and when you can go to donate them to an institution who helps those less lucky.
Gather your thoughts and pray for all those who are in need and pray so we all understand our needs from the wants.
Bye bye kids!
Until we meet again!
