Yom Kippur

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer to act right

Have you ever celebrated an important feast in your community? One of the important Jewish feasts is called Yom Kippur. The Jewish community starts by lighting candles and blessing God as they then fast, pray and meditate on the things they did which were not so good in the past year. As they ask God to forgive them, they promise to do their best to live a better life and not to repeat the mistakes they made in the past.

This prayer space is called YOM KIPPUR and you will need:

  • Candles
  • A quiet place to pray
  • Light candles.
  • Gaze deeply into the flame and praise God, King of the Universe.
  • Think about how you can live a better life without repeating the same mistakes as before and ask God to help you.
