Hide and seek

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer for forgiveness

Hi kids!

Have you ever felt the need to hide after you did something naughty?  Maybe you hid under the bed or in between the wardrobe and the wall. God only knows for how long you stood hidden in the dark.

At times we fall for the temptations and we do silly things because we are stubborn and refuse to listen to what the adults and/or God tell us.  Stop and think…for how long will you stay in your hiding place?  God does not want us to stay hidden. God knows us and he is patiently waiting for us to come out from our darkness and seek his forgiveness.

The prayer space we are going to do today (and with those who share our same household) is called: Hide and Seek and to do it we need: –

  • a hiding place or
  • a small toy figurine and a small box or container

Take some time to think of something wrong you did for which you feel the need to hide.

Next, find a good hiding place for example under a table and hide yourself.  If this is not possible, you can use a small figure toy and while you place it in a small closed box, imagine that you were instead of that toy hiding in the box.

While you are in your hiding place, or while you place the toy in the box with a closed lid, close your eyes and talk to God about your silly actions and tell him about your wish to come out from  the darkness of your hiding place.

A short moment gathered in prayer.

After you come out from your hiding place or you take out the toy from the box you can prepare yourself to go for confession if you need to.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again.

How to use this space
