His pride

Prayer Spaces at Home and a Prayer to thank God for the Holy Spirit

Hi kids!

Have you ever seen anyone being baptised? Maybe grownups recall and relate what happened on that day when you became part of God’s family.  Jesus got baptised too! That day the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus to show us that he is with Him forever. God the Father showed who Jesus was when he said: – “You are my Son, the Beloved, with you, I am well pleased.”  How would I feel if I had to hear God saying that I am his pride and joy?

The prayer space we are going to do today (with those who share our same household) is called: His Pride and to do it we need:

  • A wording frame template.
  • A photo of your baptism or a picture of someone being baptised.
  • Pencils, markers and colours.
  • Start by taking some time looking at your baptism photo or at any other picture showing someone being baptised.
  • Close your eyes and imagine what a special moment that was when the Holy Spirit descended onto you and God was pleased and proud to have you as his child.
  • Now you can colour the words which are printed on the frame template.
  • You can also write the date of when you were baptised and today’s date.
  • Next you can thank the Holy Spirit for empowering you so that you can follow the steps of Jesus

so that Our Father will always be pleased with you.

How to use this space

God speaks to us in many ways, including through prayer at home. Here you will find useful background and activities to better understand how to pray, helping you to connect with God in your daily life in a meaningful way.
