His Pride

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer to the Holy Spirit

Have you ever seen anyone being baptised? Maybe grownups recall your baptism and they tell you every single detail such as how many times you cried or how you remained asleep while the preiset was showering your head with holy water. It was a special day when you became part of God’s family when like Jesus, you became God’s  beloved Child.

It was St John The Baptist who baptised Jesus.  On that day God our Heavenly Father and The Holy Spirit showed us who Jesus was. God showed us who Jesus was when he said: “You are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.”  This is what God said on the day when we were baptised. Let us stop for a moment and think: How would I feel if I had to hear God saying that he is very happy with me?

Knowing that God loves us and is pleased with us gives us hope to face this new year 2021 with hope and purpose.

The prayer space we are going to do today (with those who share our same household) is called:- His Pride and to do it we need:-

  • a wording frame template
  • a photo of your baptism or a picture of someone being baptised
  • pencils, markers and colours

Start by taking some time looking at your baptism photo or at any other picture showing someone being baptised. Close your eyes and imagine what a special moment that was when the Holy Spirit descended onto you and God was pleased and proud to have you as his child.

Now you can colour the words which are printed on the frame template. You can also write the date of when you were baptised and today’s date.

Next you can thank Our Father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit for being pleased with you.

How to use this space

God speaks to us in many ways, including through prayer at home. Here you will find useful background and activities to better understand how to pray, helping you to connect with God in your daily life in a meaningful way.
