Palm hands

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer in preparation for Holy Week

Hi kids!

Have you ever seen a political leader being greeted by his followers? Leaders usually are greeted with cheers because the followers trust them. They trust that their good leader genuinely cares about them and that s/he will lead them to live a better life then their present one.

When Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, the crowd saw in him this great leader who would grant them the freedom they wanted. They saw in him a conquering king who would lead them to live a better life.

The prayer space we are going to do today with those who share our same household is called: – Palm Hands and to do it we need: –

  • Pieces of green paper
  • Popsicle
  • Scissors
  • Pencil and markers
  • Glue

Take some time to think of  how you can describe your God such as Good, Forgiving, King etc

Pause.

Put your hand on the green papers and make some hand shaped cutouts which will serve as the palm leaves.

Write or draw these adjectives which describe our God on the hand shaped palm leaves and stick it  to the popsicle.

Now, close your eyes and in prayer worship and adore your God as you think of the ways you described him  for example, I trust in you dear God for you are good and caring.

A moment gathered in prayer.

Place this palm leave somewhere where it reminds you of the qualities of your God.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet again.
