We care

Prayer Spaces at Home and The act of contrition

It is not the building that makes a Church but the love shared amongst those who are baptized and love God with all their hearts, their minds and their souls.

Jesus today is reminding us that by being members of the Church community,   we are responsible for one another.  He reminds us that one of our tasks of love for each other should be that of correcting our brothers and sisters who sin.

This is not an easy task but Jesus also reminds us that he is actively present among us – members of his Church.  He tells us, “ For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” ( Mt 18; 20)

The prayer space we are going to do today is called We Care– and  to do it  we need:

  • A path template
  • Biro jew markers

First, we are going to take some time to think of people who are not taking the right track and consequently they are not loving God, others and creation.

On the path template, draw a heart for each person you thought of.

Now, close your eyes and pray to God to help you show His Love to these people who got lost from the community of believers.

Finally, you can place this path template anywhere you see regularly so that it will remind you that while we are on our way to the afterlife we should care for one another.

The Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

How to use this space

God speaks to us in many ways, including through prayer at home. Here you will find useful background and activities to better understand how to pray, helping you to connect with God in your daily life in a meaningful way.
