Wide awake

Prayer Spaces at Home and A prayer for guidance

Hi kids!

Can you remember a time when you stayed wide-awake, fully prepared, eagerly awaiting, because something special was going to happen?  It could be when you were going to visit a theme park, before your birthday party, because of a game, when you went on a holiday or when you met someone special.

Jesus tells us:- “Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.” Jesus is reminding us to stay awake, focused and ready for the special moment when he calls us to live forever with Him in Heaven.  We can prepare ourselves for this moment by deepening our lifelong friendship with Him.

The prayer space we are going to do today is called – Wide-Awake and  to do it  we need:

  • A face template
  • 2 plastic bottle caps
  • Glue
  • Marker

Take some time to think of how you would feel if Jesus had to come and pay you a visit unexpectedly.  Will he find you wide-awake fully prepared, eagerly waiting for him?

After drawing an eyeball on each of the two plastic bottle caps, you can stick the two plastic bottle caps onto the face template as a pair of wide-opened eyes.

You can continue to  pray to God to send people in your life who will encourage you to stay wide-awake, waiting eagerly for the moment when he calls you to dwell with Him forever in Heaven.

Spend some time gathered in prayer.

Bye Bye Friends till we meet next week.
